Throughout the year, we have been featuring various success stories and interviews with both archiving partners and users of OHA's Papakilo Database. As we enter the season ofgratitude, we would like to share an article on Makahikifrom our Hawaiian newspaper collection written by renowned Native Hawaiian historian and scholar Samuel Mānaiakalani Kamakau, published in Ka Nūpepa Ku'oko'a on July 6, 1867, with the translation provided to us by ourpartner, Awaiaulu. Awaiaulu perpetuates and advances the use ofHawaiian language and trains Hawaiian language translators and editors.
