On November 11, 1917, people across Hawai'i mourned the loss of their last reigning monarch, Queen Lili'uokalani. In preparation for the day marking a 100 years since her passing, Senator Brickwood Galuteria and Senator Kai Kahele spearheaded the creation of Aloha Lili'u. The special event was a commemorative tribute held on Nov. 1 1 at her statue,
adjacent to the 'Iolani Palaee. OHA was among the many organizations and individuals that eame together to support the tribute to our beloved wahine mō'ī.
