World Plonning Day focuses on agriculture
The Department of Urban and Regional Planning at UH-Mānoa is celebrating World Planning Day with a talk on the future of loeal agriculture. In "Growing Loeal Agriculture in the Post-Plantation Era: How Can Planners Help?" featured speaker Jeffrey Melrose will discuss the role planning plays in decisions about agricultural land use, as well as regulatory pitfalls investors and startups ean run into. The free public event will be held Nov. 17 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Hawai'i Community Development Authority Community Roomat 547 Queen Street.
