KIDANI, MICHELLE DEMOCRAT
Q1. While I supported the state conveying the 30 acres to OHA, I also believed that OHA should havp askpd fnr
some waivers of HCDA conditions as part of the turnover. At this time, legislators are awaiting development plans from OHA, and, without knowing what the plans are and what is eonsidered "sufficient revenue," it is difficult for me to respond. I will say that I do want to see
the Legislature pursue bettering conditions for native Hawaiians with OHA taking a lead role. Q2. 1 supported the state version of the Akaka bill, and funding for Kana'iolowalu Native Hawaiian roll. The process is underway with delegates to be elected in January of 2015. While I would like to see continued support of OHA's effort to move forward with nation building, I am keenly aware that Hawaiian sovereignty is not something all Hawaiians agree upon and we need to move forward with respect forall.
