Land conservation grants

The Legacy Land Conservation Program is accepting grant applications for the State Land Conservation Fund to support the protection, through acquisition, of lands having value as a resource to the State of Hawai'i. The program provides funding SEE NEWS BRIEFS "II PAGE 33

Continued from page 29 for the acquisition and conservation of watersheds; coastal area, heaeh and oeean access; habitat protection; cultural and historic sites; recreational and puhlie hunting areas; parks; natural areas; agricultural production; and open spaces and scenic resources. About $3 million in grants may be available for the 2013-2014 cycle. Applications and instructions are available at http://hawaii.gov/ dlnr/dofaw/llcp. Deadline to submit a one-page project summary to consulting state agencies is July 19. Full applications must be postmarked no later than 4:30 p.m. Sept. 16.
