HONORING KAMEHAMEHA

Government leaders, Hawaiian organizations and the puhlie gathered at the Kamehameha statue fronting Ali'iōlani Hale on June 7 for the annual Kamehameha Lei-Draping Ceremony. The first king of the united Kingdom of Hawai'i, Kamehameha ruled from 1810 until his death in 1819. The lei-draping ceremony was part of events statewide commemorating his legacy.
