2012 OHA Elections
As of the filing deadline of June 5, Trustee Colette Machado was re-elected to office. According to state law, any candidate for trustee who is unopposed at the hling deadline is automatically re-elected and will not appear on the ballot. As such, Machado is automatically re-elected. Trustee Donald Cataluna is not running for re-election as the tmstee representing Kaua'i, though 1 1 candidates will mn for that seat. Three candidates are mnning for the seat representing
Hawai'i Island, and six candidates are vying for the at-large seat. The election for OHA trustees will be held in conjunction with the general eleehon in November. Meanwhile, the hling deadline for the seat vacated by Maui Tmstee Boyd Mossman will be later this year. By law, candidates for that vacancy have until 60 days prior to November's eleetion to hle nomination papers to run for the seat. That special election will also be held in eonjunction with the general eleehon.
