TEAM OHA GETS DOWN TO FIGHT DIABETES

Members of Team OHA joined the community in early morning jazzercise at the 1 2th annual Step Out Walk to Fight Diabetes, a chronic disease that afflicts 20,000 Native Hawaiians in the state. OHA was a proud sponsor of the March 1 9 event, whieh raised a total of $500,000 in donations and pledges for the Amehean Diabetes Assoeiahon of Hawai'i. Almost 3,000 people, including about 80 teams, participated in the 2.3-mile walk around Kapi'olani Park and Honolulu Zoo. Walkers were treated to healthy snacks, entertainment, games, information booths and free health screenings by Project Vision and others.
