The Offlce of Hawaiian Affairs Consumer Micro Loan Program
CMLP is designed to provide low cost loans to Native Hawaiians who are experiencing temporary ilnaneial hardship as a result of Unforeseen Events, or who need small amounts of funding to enhanee tlieir careers. Loans are available up to $7,500 at a flat interest rate of 5.0% with a maximum repayment tenn of 5 years or 60 months. To be eligible for a Consumer Micro Loan, you must meet tlie Mowing criteria: • Applicant must be of Native Hawaiian Ancestry • Applicant must be at least 18 yrs of age and a resident of tlie State of Hawaii • Applicant's Credit History should be satisfactory • Applicant must have the ability to repay the loan • Loans must be for tlie primary applicants benefit. • Loans are available to individiials only. Partnerships, Cooperation's, Sole Proprietorsliips, etc., are excluded. Grants are generally awarded for a period of not more than one year. Grants are intended to support specitic projects or programs and not tlie general operating costs of tlie organization. Tliis fimding program is not designed to provide ilnaneial support to individiials for personal needs or to ilnanee business ventnres. Examples of Allowable and Unallowable Loan Purposes
