OHA FY10 Community Grants Program The Offlce of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) Grants Prograrn assists organizations to address the needs of the Hawaiian cormnunity. Grant awards of up to $100,000 will be rnade to support progranis whieh address OHA Strategic Plan goals in the areas of Education, Heahh, Hunian Services, Housing, Eeonomie Developrnent, Native Rights, Culture, Land, Resource Managernent, Governance, and Cornniunity Developrnent. To be eflgible for funding, an apphcant rnust: • Have IRS tax-exernpt non-proflt status (operating in the State of Hawai'i) or be a governnient agency; • Propose a project or prograni whieh beneflts Native Hawaiians individuany or as a group; and • Provide a percentage of total project cost (percentage deterrnined by the aniount ot funding requested). Grants are generally awarded for a period of not rnore than one year. Grants are intended to support speciflc projects or progranis and not the general operating costs of the organization. This funding prograni is not designed to provide Ananeial support to individuals for personal needs or to Ananee business ventures. In addition, all applying organizations must attend one of our OHA 2009 Grants Workshops or rneet wi h Grants Prograni staff prior to subrnitting an application. Workshops wih be offered statewide frorn January through April 2009. Deadhne for FY10 apphcations is Tuesday, June 30, 2009. We will accept and consider requests subject to the availabihty of funds.
