Conklin book

Was it irresponsible of OHA to promote Ken Conklin's pilau anti-Hawaiian racist book in our newspaper and not use his name? At first I thought, "what the hell was OHA thinking?" Mr. Manu

Boyd, OHA's puhlie information director, informed me that it was not the intention of OHA to promote Conklin's book or leave out his name. I believe Mr. Boyd's response was pono. My answer to our people is this: if you did not know who Mr. Conklin was before, then now you do. He is no friend to the Hawaiian people. He belongs to a certain small group of individuals known as the "Nutgrass" society and the "No Aloha Lor All" group. This book is un-Hawaiian to us and un-American to the good people of America. So I must say mahalo, Mr. Conklin, for the $12, and we will be sure to use it to benefit our people, culture and future government. The truth will set us free! Russell Ho'okano Ryan Via the lnternet
