Nā Lei Na'auao, the hui of 12 Hawaiian-focused charter schools statewide, has announced its fourth annual indigenous education confer-
enee. "Ku'i ka Lono," meaning "spread the news" is set for March 16 and 17 at the King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel at Kamakahonu on Hawai'i island. School officials and kumu (educators) will share their accomplishments, challenges and practices with one another, representing Hawaiian charter schools on Hawai'i, Kaua'i and O'ahu. Among the goals of the eonference is to help Hawaiian communities create quality, culturally driven schools that empower Hawaiian students
