Kahaialiʻi withdrawal
OHA candidate Wilmont Kamaunu Kahaialici Jr. withdrew from the race and is endorsing retired Judge Boyd P. Mossman as the candidate for the OHA Mlaui seat. "I decided to withdraw from the race after participating in a video political forum for candidates on Mlaui. During that video forum I listened to all the candidates express their thoughts regarding the needs of the Native Hawaiian eommunity," Kahaiali'i said. "I was impressed withall the eandidates, particularly the Judge. However, I did not make my final decision until the middle of September. I felt strongly that judge MIossman would do well to represent the needs of Native Hawaiians in the legal arena. I know the judge to be a man of integrity with a strong desire and a deep resolve to ehampion the cause of Native Hawaiians and fight the lawsuits and other legal challenges that eonfront them today. "Let us as Hawaiians unite in our resolve to put to rest any doubt or misgivings others may have about our ability to rally together and stand as one."
