OHA is helping re-build Kawānanakoa Gymnasium in Keaukaha

By Manu Boyd The onee dilapidated Kawānanakoa Gym at the comer of Desha and Baker avenues on Hawaiian home lands was not safe or adequate for the throngs of volleyball and basketball players. And after years of the Hawai'i County's stalling and pleas from the eommunity for support, the Board of Trustees of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs presented

$667,000 to Pat Englebrand of the Hawai'i County Department of Parks and Recreation, marking the Tight at the end of the īunnel' for the East Hawai'i community.
