Written and directed by Kala'i Ontai ofthe 'Aha Pūnana Leo in Hilo, thefilmfeatures Noelani Iokepa as the mythical princess Ka 'ililauokekoa, and Pono Guerrero as Kauakahiali'i, whose magical nose flute "kanikawī" attracted the princess to him. Several versions ofthe story were gatheredfrom elders, Hawaiian language newspapers and books, and assembled into a comprehensive film, complete with English subtitles. ■
