Aloha 'Aina is among four political parties that have qualified by petition to
be represented on the Hawai'i ballot this year. Also quahfying are the Libertarian, Natural Law and Reform Parties whieh eaeh submitted the required 602 signatures by the April 6 deadline. They join the the Constitution, Democratic, Republican and Hawai'i Green parties whieh were pre-qualified. "By quahfying more Dolitical narties.
Hawai'i voters wih be offered a variety : of poliheal philosophies to choose from ; making for a more open electoral arena," said Dwayne Yoshina, the ■ state's chief eleehon officer. "We hope . that this broadening of choices wih mean greater participation in the elee- ; toral process. Information on party objectives ean be obtained through the Office of Eleetions at 453-8683. The deadline to file as a candidate for the 2000 elections is 4:30 p.m., July 25. ■
