Federal aid

A bill passed by the United States House of Representatives on April 6 would authorize millions of dollars in assistance to lowineome native Hawaiians on or near Hawaiian Home Lands, according to a report by Susan Roth in the April 7 Honolulu Advertiser. The bill also provides for $100 million in guaranteed home loans for native Hawaiians unable to qualify for mortgage loans. Although the bill passed the Senate, it must go back again for another vote.
