Machado,DeSoto quit GAS Committee
By Paula Durbln Hawai'i Trustee Hannah Springer announced her resignation as vice chair of the Board of T rustees
and as chair of OHA's Land and Sovereignty Committee Nov. 1 5. She had been elected vice chair of the board when it reorganized subsequent to the 1998 eleetions and had been chair of the Land and Sovereignty Committee since
the board's previous reorganization in October 1997. On Nov. 18, Moloka'i-Lāna'i Trustee Colette Machado announced her resignation from OHA's Committee on Governmental Affairs and Sovereignty, citing differences with GAS chair, Trustee-at-Large Mililani Trask. "This resignation does not affect my duties as the chair of the Committee on Program Management and my committee memberships on Budget and Finance and Policy and Planning," Trustee Machado clarified in the memorandum she circulated.
