Civic clubs to meet on Maui
A broad spectrum of Hawaiian issues will be discussed Nov. 1 1 - 14, when the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs will hold its 40th annual convention at the Royal Lāhainā Resort at Kā'anapali, Maui. Hosted by the Maui Council, this year's theme is "Kū i ka Māna," fostering traditions passed from one generation to the next. In 1917, Piinee Jonah Kūhiō Kalaniana'ole established the Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolule in order to getHawaiians active m politics and civic affairs.
