Upcoming elections

OHA would like to inform all beneficiaries that there are four important votes for Hawaiians to participate in this year. • The Native Hawaiian Vote: a vote by mail-in ballot to determine whether Hawaiians would like to elect delegates to a eonvention to propose a Hawaiian government. July 1 - ballot mailing begins July 15 - registration ends August 15 - voting ends Results to be announced on September 2, 1996 by thc Hawaiian Sovereignty Elections Council. • The Primary Election: vote to establish a candidaīe for eaeh paity September21, 1996. • The General Elections: vote lo establish our new Mayor, Prosecutor, Prcsident of the U.S. and othcr positions. November 5, 1996 • OHA elections: vote for four OHA trustee positions. November 5, 1996. Voters for the primary and general elections must be registered. For the primary, gencral and OHA clections, voters must vote at designatcd voting bootns. To obtain a Wikiwiki voter registration form eall the City or County Clcrk's office or look for the voter registmliptt form in ihe front section of the 1996-1997 Yellow Pages directory, page 63. Call OHA's public information office at 594-1980 or government affairs office at 594-1756 for more voter registration information.
