Two Loeal Boys Turn Chefs - Alan Wong and Mike Motas are ON TARGET. Alan Wong, born and raised in Wahiawā started his career as a dishwasher in a Waikiki hotel. From these humble beginnings he ended up working in a fancy French restaurant in New York City where he had to not only learn to

eook French food but also to speak French. Alan now has his own fancy restaurant where he uses fresh loeal produce and loeal recipes to make some very tasty, stylin' food. Mike Motas of Wai'anae took what he learned about the traditionaI Hawaiian diet and started making it himself. The food he prepares is done

in a peaceful, prayerful manner. It is beautiful to look at and 'ono to taste. A self-taught chef who loves to eook healthy food, Mike knows that food is healing and so he calls his food business Mea'ai Lapau'au.
