"100 Years in Retrospect"--Kamehameha School for Girls

The opening of the Kamehameha School for Girls in 1 894 fulfilled Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop's dream "to erect and maintain in the Hawaiian islands' two schools, eaeh for boarding and day scholars, one for boys and one for girls..." "100 Years in Retrospect" is a photographic look at the Kamehameha School for Girls in commemoration of the hundredth anniversary of its opening on December 19, 1894. Photos include selections from the Kamehameha Schools archives and those from the eolleehon of well-known Kamehameha Schools photographer Luryier "Pop" Diamond. The public is invited to view the photographs at the Frank E. Midkiff Learning Center on the Kamehameha Schools campus from May 17 to August 15, 1995. Hours of the exhibit are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday evenings, There is no charge for the exhibit. For more information eall 8428412 or 842-8495
