Caring foster parents sought for children
In Hawai'i, the majority of children in need of foster care are Hawaiian and part-Hawaiian. The Department of Human Services (DHS) is looking for families with a love for children who are willing to be foster parents for infants, teens and siblings. A foster family cares for children whose parents cannot care for them for a variety of reasons. Responsibilities of foster parents include providing for a child's physical and emotional needs. It means being a positive role model for children, providing guidance and a willingness to work with others. Foster care may be temporary or long term, until the children ean be reunited with their parents or placed in a permanent home.
