Clubs present awards in honor of Kūhiō

A series of awards in honor of Prince Kūhiō, founder of the Hawaiian civic club movement. were presented at the civic clusb convention as folIows: • the Prince Kūhiō Award to the outstanding Hawaiian civic club: Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu. • the Ka Po'okela 'o Kūhiō Award to the outstanding Hawaiian civic club member for service to the Hawaiian civic clubs: Victor Kaiwi Pang, immediate past president of the 'Āinahau O Kaleponi Hawaiian Civic Club, and Leimomi Khan, president of the Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu. • the Kalaniana'ole Award for outstanding service to the community at large by a Hawaiian civic club member: state Rep. Annelle Amaral of the " Ahahui Siwila Hawai'i O Kapolei and Claire Hughes of the Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu. • the Kūlia I Ka Nu'u Award to the outstanding native Hawaiian (non-civic club member): Robert Tong. • the Kāko'o O Kalaniana'ole Award recognizing non-Hawaiians for outstanding service to the Hawaiian community: Jane Pang of the 'Āinahau O Kaleponi Hawaiian Civic Club and Hardy Spoehr of the Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu. • the Pualeilani Award for the outstanding Hawaiian civic club family: the Sala 'ohana, members of the Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu.
