• Known risk factors for ovarian cancer: — a close relative (mother, sister daughter) has had ovarian cancer. — women who have never been pregnant are more likely to develop ovarian cancer. — the risk of developing ovarian cancer increases with age, epecially after age 50. — women who have had breast cancer are twice as likely to develop ovarian cancer as women who have not had breast cancer. • A growing tumor may cause a woman to feel swollen or bloated, or to have general discomfort in the lower abdomen; other symptoms include gas, indigestion, nausea and weight loss.
