Alu Like Island centers
Tidbits from Maui Center The Maui Island Center Demonstration Project for 1991- 92 revealed some interesting facts on the areas of need for its Hawaiian people and community. Services requested most at Maui Island Center were: health, food, financial, housing, legal, genealogical and business. The average individual profile seeking assistance was Hawaiian female, age 18-39 and unemployed. The center's employment and training program was able to accomplish its goals and objectives even though it experienced a change in leadership three times in nine months.
