Start making plans to attend some of these informative programs from the Native Hawaiian Library Project during January, especially if you live on Moloka'i. The Holomua Resource Van will eonhnue a
series of quilt pattern tracing workshops held in cooperation with Bishop Museum at 6 p.m. Jan. 15, at Moloka'i Public Library. Copies of 55 quilt patterns that have been donated to Bishop Museum by the family of expert quiltmaker Hannah Baker will be available for tracing. Interested quilters should bring their own tracing paper for the 72" x 42" patterns. NHLP will provide the No. 1 pencils. Books on quilting will be available for borrowing with a Hawai'i state library card. The Holomua Resource Van will also be visiting the Ho'olehua Kupuna Center from 9:3010:30 a.m. Jan. 14. School visits will be made on Moloka'i at Maunaloa School from 8-9:45 a.m. Jan. 15; Ku'alapuu School from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Jan 16; and Kaunakakai School from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Jan. 24. The Holomua Resource Van will be participating in the Moloka'i Makahiki in the evening on Jan. 24 and all day on Jan. 25. The van will feature such activities as petroglyph rubbing and bookmark stamping; an exhibit displaying reproductions of ancient tools and fishing implements; and books available for borrowing with a Hawai'i state library card. The Kaho'olawe Traveling Library Exhibit will be at the Munieipal Reference and Records
Center in downtown Honolulu from Jan. 2 until February. The Judiciary History Center Traveling Library Exhibit will move from Liliha Public Library to 'Ewa Beach Public and School Library on Jan. 3 until March.
Corey Calicdan, a former participant of Alu Like's On-The-Job Trainlng Program, received trainlng as a carpenter apprentice at GN Sanborn General Contractor.
