Bureau organizes tours
The Bureau of Conveyances, the agency that records all real estate transactions in the state, is now offering group tours and a review of its Hawai'i administrative rules, chapters 13-16. Bureau registrar Sandra Furukawa says, "A lot of people don't really know what happens here when they submit their land documents to be processed. It's not just a eleneal office where routine processing occurs. Frofessional judgements are made. "For historic preservation, the documents must pass through many hands before the process is completed. The tours will help people become aware of what's involved in recording all the information about their land transactions," she said. Furukawa also announced that copies of the new Hawai'i Administrative Rules, Chapters 1316, relating to the bureau's procedures, are available to the public upon request.
