Cost delays Maui OHA office

At their May 31 OHA Board of Trustees meeting in Kailua-Kona, OHA trustees voted unanimously to rescind their earlier Apnl 26 decision to lease a warehouse in the old Millyard Industrial Park in Wailuku, Maui. The building was to have been used to house OHA's Maui office and to provide office space to other Hawaiian organizations.

The decision not to proceed with the project eame after cost estimates to improve the buildingincreasedby $149,640. OHA will eonhnue to explore the concept of a multi-service center for Hawaiians as recommended by the Hui 'Imi Task Force. A search for vacant land or improved property will resume.
