Kuhio Day is celebrated by Molokai homesteads

The homestead association of Molokai will be commemorating and celebrating the birthday of Pnnee Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole on Saturday, Mar. 23 at the Rudolph Duncan Field in Ho'olehua.

This will be 70 years since the Homestead Act was initiated. More importantly, the additional 100 years being added to present leases, give the homesteaders mueh to celebrate. Included in the celebration will be ho'okupu from eaeh of the four districts of homestead areas, Kalamaula, Ho'olehua, Kape'akea and One Ali'i. Entertainment will be provided by Genoa Keawe,

Nalu, Don Ho, Danny Kaleikim, Ray Kane, Mana'o Company, Moe Keale, A1 Pokipala, Fred Morris and others. Skylark (Jacqueline Rossetti will be mistress of ceremonies). The celebration will begin at 9 a.m. and will end at 3:30 p.m. Luneh will be served and the puhlie is invited to attend this gala event.
