Ethnic groups invited to join celebration
The Waipahu Cultural Garden Park invites all Hawaii's different ethnic groups to join in celebrating the opening of the exhibit on the history of plantation laborers, Saturday, May 19. The park is in the process of soliciting help from different ethnic organizations to participate in this event. Participation may be in various ways unique to eaeh culture, such as entertainment, displays, arts, crafts, or foodsales. "Immigration Day" celebration will be an excellent fundraising opportunity for any group. One of the goals of Waipahu Cultural Garden Park is to help educate the public — both the younger generations and visitors — about Hawaii's rich plantation heritage. For this purpose the Park's museum is producing an exhibit entitled "Where Did We Come From?"
