Kauaʻi kamaaina man writes life story
George R. Aguiar, called Keoki Akia by his Hawaiian friends, announces publication of "Maikai Nou Kaua'i" in limited edition. The book contains recollections of Aguiar's life in Poipu, where he raised a family, was a businessman, a Territorial legislator and a Koloa District Magistrate. Now 78-years-old, Aguiar lives in Ashland, Oregon, where he wrote and published his book. The book is divided into story-sections whieh include The Aloha Culture Series, Growing Up on Kaua'i Series, Life on Kaua'i Series, Japanese Mill Camp Series, Politics Sweet Politics, and A Legend: The Royal Kidnapping.
