Kamehameha Fest At Coconut Island

Eaeh year the beautiful Big Island plays host to hundreds of tourists and loeal residents at the Kamehameha Day celebration. Marking another year of the great king's birth, Malia Puka O Ka Lani Catholic Church of Keaukaha, Hilo, Hawai'i, takes special interest in presenting this fun event, Sunday, June 11, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on coconut island, adjacent to Lili'uokalani Park. A royal court wil be presented at noon. There will be hula dancers, games for children, food booths, Hawaiian handcrafted items for sale as well as Big-lsland made products. Hawaiian craft demonstrations will take plaee throughout the day: flower and feather lei making, haku leis, lauhala weaving, and coconut leaf weaving. Enjoy the live entertainment all day. Admission is free.
