Historical Lecture at Waimea Falls Park

Visitors to Waimea Falls Park on May 30 and 31 enjoyed a free historical lecture by Rudy Leikaimana Mitchell, park historian and archaeologist. Mitchell talked on the excavation and renovation of his latest project whieh involves Hale O Lono, an ancient Hawaiian temple located at one end of the Park's parking lot. He has been working on the reconstruction of the temple since December, 1987. Radio-carbon dating indicates it is over 800 years old.
