AOHCC Gets First Woman President

Jalna Keala, Government Affairs Officer with the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, has become the first woman president of the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs. Mrs. Keala moved up from her position as first vice president following the Jan. 19 passing of Benson W.K. Lee Sr. She previously served as a director and second vice president.

Mrs. Keala is a member of the Ali'i Pau'ahi HCC, having joined when it was first established in 1973. Annelle C. Amaral is currently the club president. This is an election year for the Association when it convenes for its 29th Annual Convention Nov. 16-20 at the Kona Surf Hotel in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
