The Hawaiian Leadership* Development Program at the University of Hawaii Hilo is looking for a fulltime program specialist whieh pays a minimum monthly salary of $1,773. There is an ll-month work schedule and duties of the position are to: • Identify and recruit Hawaiian students with academic and leadership potential into the Hawaiian Leadership Development Program. • Develop a schedule of courses that would facilitate the participants' personal academic, and leadership development. • Coordinate a mentorship and peer counseling program for student participants> • Provide academic counseling. • Provide small group and individualized instruction. • Coordinate and facilitate a leadership training program. Minimum qualifications eall for a Master's degree in counseling, education or related fields; three years of counseling and teaching, or administration experience in education; or any eomhination of related education and experience; sensitivity to the needs of Hawaiian students; demonstrated ability to work with Hawaiian students; and knowledge of the Hawaiian community and its resources.
