Lunalilo Trustee Deadline Feb. 15
Hawaii Supreme Court Justices are now accepting applications, nominations and/or recommendations from interested persons or organizations to fill a trustee vacancy for the Lunalilo Estate. George Ii Brown recently resigned after more than 30 years as a trustee for the Estate. King Lunalilo's will specified that ineome from his real estate be used to take care of "poor, destitute and infirm people of Hawaiian blood or extraction," with a special focus on the kupuna. Lunalilo Home is the Estate's primary responsibility. Interested parties may write to individual justices at P.O. Box 2560, Honolulu 96804. The deadline is Feb. 15, 1987. These letters should include qualifications and other pertinent information about the applicant, nominee or person who is being nominated. Supreme Court Justices are: Chief Justice Herman Lum and Associate Justices Edward H. Nakamura, Frank D. Padgett, Yoshimi Hayashi and James H. Wakatsuki. A Master's Report of the Estate covering the period from September 1, 1982, to August 31, 1985, is available upon request from the Public Information Office.
