CIRIES Established to Conduct Research

X CIRIES, an acronym for Construction Industry Research Information Education Services, has been established in Hawaii by the Honolulu Chapter of the Constrūction Specifications Institute. The new interim committee of the loeal CSI chapter was established to conduct research and to publish information in several areas pertaining to Hawaii's construction industry. CIRIES' research will include such topics as: • Loeal and regional building construction failures and remedies. • Construction litigation problems and solutions. • Architectural building codes and standards.

• Properties and behavior of building materials. Andrew Yanoviak, AIA, CS1, is the founding director of CIRIES whieh will be based at the Matsuda Technology Training and Education Center at Honolulu Community College.
