Handicap Fishing Tournament Aug. 1

The Ninth Annual Handicap Fishing Tournament for Hawaii's handicapped children and adults is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 1, at Pokai Bay Beach in Waianae. This is an event involving the community, military and service organizations who play host this one day to more than 300 of Hawaii's handicapped. The Office of Hawaiian Affairs has been invited to participate in the opening ceremonies and in the day's festivities. Tournament Chairman Bill Bathe said the handicapped deserve the community's attention on this fishing and fun in the sun day. Hawaiians and part Hawaiians are among the many handicapped children and adults who will be having their day in the sun. Human Services Specialist Sam Holt has represented OHA in past events.
