Hawaiian Women Affected

Hawaiian and part-Hawai-ian women who smoke have a 200 percent greater ehanee of developing lung cancer than Japanese women smokers, according to a Hawaii Cancer Information Service fact sheet. Highlights of the comparisons in the fact sheet note the folbwing:

• Filipinos are the least likely to get cancer. • Japanese have the highest rate of colorectal cancer (eolon and rectum).

• Hawaiian women lead all groups in breast and genital cancer. Many of these statistics underlie the suspicion that cancer is related to lifestyles.
