Halau Likolaulani

Halau Likolaulani O Hawaii, whieh was identified in last month's issue as being a Waimanalo day care program, is instead a Hawaiian language learning center for children ages 2 to 4'A.

According to a recent advertisement in thedaily media, the center is currently accepting applieations to enroll children in the ages mentioned. The halau is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. The Office of Hawaiian Affairs at its September board meeting on Kauai reinstated $40,000 of unexpended funding for the center. The Friends of Halau Likolaulani O Hawaii are presenting "A Gift of Love" on Sunday, Nov. 18, from 1 1 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Waimanalo Quarry across from Waimanalo Beach Park.

lt is an annual Thanksgiving celebration to benefit the school. Donation is $10 for adults, $5 for students ages 13-17, and children 12 and under are free. There is also a rain date of Nov. 25.
