IOSEPA.

HELU 7.

No ka mea, ua kali pihopihoi loa paha oia e ike a e lohe maopopo i ke ano o kana moeuhane.

He wehewehe kaumaha loa keia i ka luna kahu ai, aole nae i akaka pono kona manao ilaila.

I ke kolu o ka la mai ka wehewehe ana a Iosepa i keia mau moeuhane ; oia ka la hanau o Parao, he la olioli nui ia ma ka hale o ke alii, a hana iho la oia i ahaaina nui no kona poe luna a pau, a me na mea lawelawe imua ona.  Iwaena o keia ahaaina, kauoha aku la ke alii e hookuuia mai ka luna lawe kiaha, i kona wahi mua ; ma ia la hookahi no, ua lilo hou oia i luna lawe kiaha no ke alii, a haawi hou ke kiaha uwaina iloko o kona lima.

Nolaila, ua lilo o Iosepa i mea oiaio ma ka wehewehe ana i na moeuhane, i mea e akaka ai, o ke Akua ka mea i ao aku ia ia no ia hoike ana.  No ka mea, o ke Akua no , a o na kanaka ana i kokua ai, i loaa ka ike i ke ano o na mea e hiki mai ana.

Ua hai mai, ua hoopoina ka luna lawe kiaha ia Iosepa, i ka wa i hoihoiia ai oia i kana oihana mua ; aka, ua hoopoina wale oia i ko Iosepa lokomaikai ia ia i ka wa e noho ana malalo ona iloko o ka Hale paahao ; ame ka olioli i ka lohe ana i ko Iosepa wehewehe ana i kana moeuhane, me ko Iosepa noi ana ia ia, e hoike aku imua e ke alii i kona wale ana me ka hewa ole, a i laweia’ku hoi oia mai ia wahi aku.

Ke hoike nei keia hoopoina ana o ka luna lawe kiaha i kona lokoino nui, ame kona manao ole ia hai, ke hemo aku oia mai ka pilikia ame ka poino aku!

Auwe! nui ka kanaka e like me ia ma ka honua nei, e manao nui ana i ko lakou pomaikai iho, me ka manao ole i ko hai ! o na kamalii kekahi i hoopoina i na makua ponoi, ame ko lakou lokomaikai a pau, hookuli wale i ko lakou leo aloha ; kokua ole kekahi i ka wa mai, a i ka wa palupalu, a malaila i hoike ai lakou i ke ano hewa a lokoino o ko lakou mau naau.

E noonoo oukou ; ke aloha io nei anei oukou i ko oukou mau makua ?  Ke hoomanao nei anei oukou i ko lakou lokomaikai a pau ia oukou ?  Ke aloha maopopo nei anei oukou i ko oukou mau makua, me ka hoolohe pono i ko lakou leo ?

“O ka maka i hoowahawaha i kona makuakane, a hoole hoi, aole malama i kona makuakane, e kiko iho ka poe koraka o ke awaawa ia mea, a e ai iho no ka poe Aeto opiopio.”

A hala na makahiki elua mai ka hoihoiia ana o ka luna lawe kiaha i kana oihana, oiai e moe ana o Iosepa ma ka Halepaahao, me ka hoopoina ia eia, a loaa ia Parao keia mau moeuhane ano e elua ma ka po hookahi.

Ala mai la ke alii, a moe hou oia, a loaa ia ia kekahi moeuhane hou i ano e, e like me ko ka mua.

A ao ae la ua po nei, anoninoni iho la kona naau no keia mau moeuhane ; no ka mea, manao iho la oia, he ano nui ko keia mau moeuhane, e pono ia ia ke ike.  Ia wa koke no, hoouna aku la ke alii e kii i na kilo a pau o Aigupita, ame na kanaka naauao a pau o ia wahi, i na paha e hiki ia lakou ke hoike mai i ke ano o ua mau moe la.

Ia wa, hoomanao iho la ka luna lawe kiaha ia Iosepa, me kona noi ana aku ia ia, e hoike aku ia ia imua o ke alii.
