We hold that nprightand honest manhood, and not the poseeeskm oi wealth, arbitrarily fixed, shoold conetithe right to vote lor nobles as well ss repreBentatives, and no 3aaore power should be accorded to the ballot of the rich man than to the ballot of the poor man. The discrimination in favor ! of wealth now made in our Constitution lis contrary to all the eternal principles of righf and justice, and must be abolishe<l. To this end, we will favor a Jevel~ ing of the present digtincUon of wealth aud classes whieh blemish our lawp with respect of the rjght to vote for nobles, thereby restoring to the nativc Ha\\aiians privileges whieh per+ain to tkem in their own country, and of whieh they have been nniustlv deprit«ed.
