KA HAIOLELO A KENERALA LIMAIKAIKA

     Ma ka po Poaha o ka pule aku nei i hala, ua haawi ae o Kenerala Limaikaika i kana haiolelo nauao ma ka luakini o Kawaiahao, no ka Iubile o ke kula nui o Punahou.

     Ua loihi keia hele ana mai a keia keiki papa o Hawaii nei, i hoi a noho ma ke one hanau e kona mau makua.  He kanaka kaulana o Limaikaika ma kona ano he koa, a ma kona ano hoi he kanaka aloha hoakanaka.  Ua haalele aku oia i kana hana i hoolilo ai i kona mau makahiki o ka noho ana opio, he kula no na paele o Amerika.  He koa ka mua a mahope mai he misionari.  He kanaka manaopaa oia, a he kuemi hope ole ma kana mea i manao ai e hana.  He wiwo’ole no hoi oia, a ma ia ano, ua hoike mai oia i kekahi mau mea oiaio ma kana haiolelo i makemake ole ia e ka poe kaulike a hoopono ole o ko lakou noonoo.

HE OHANA PILIKIA.

HAPA KA HAE HAWAII.

S. Shipman, ka ona nona ua aina la.

     O ke kumu nui o ko’u aloha, oia no ka loaa ole o kahi lole, elua haawina pila alualu o ka poe nunui, o ka poe hoi malalo o umi makahiki, he neo ka mea e loaa mai, ke aneane nei na keiki e holo wale aohe wahi uhi iho maluna. 

     Owau kekahi makua i loaa ka’u kaikamahine i keia haawina ma’i o ka lepera, aohe nae au i ike iki, ua loaa mai kahi haawina lele, e ka loaa ana no o kahi haawina lole i ka malama o Novemaba 1889, mai ia manawa mai a hiki i keia manawa a’u e kakau nei i keia manao, aole i loaa hou mai.

     Ma ka nana aku, he mau hana ku ole keia i ka pono a ka Papa Ola e hana nei, oiai, o na mea a pau i loaa i keia ma’i, aia ko lakou mau pono a pau ma ka poho o ka lima o ka Papa Ola.
