Britain Defaults Again On Debt

Great Britain again defaulted on its semi-annual war debt installment to the United States. In a note to this government, Great Britain said its inability to pay was due to reasons "no less valid now" than when payments were first suspended in 1934 on the ground that economic conditions in general and the discontinuance of German reparations payments made it impossible to meet them. Eleven other nations are also expected to default.
