ITALY'S ARMY IN RAPID ADVANCE

Italy's black shirted army is driving its way rapidly towards Addis Abba, the Ethioppian capital. Vanguards have passed Gobbo and are now in Dessye, until lately the Ethiopian northern headquarters. They were accompanied by Azebo-Galla rebels, and Raia-Galla tribesmen who were ambushing and attacking fleeing Ethiopians. One entire army corps, including heavy artillery and tanks, has left Korem and Sakota for Magdala, just northeast of Dessye, preparing to strike. Italian airplanes are comtinuing their search for Emperor Haile Selassie, who narrowly escaped capture a few days ago, and who is said to be in constant danger from some of his own tribesmen. Marshall Pietro Badoglio, high commander of the Italian armies, has issued a decree freeing all slaves in Tigre, Amhara and Gojjam provinces.
