PADDLE WHEEL KEEPS OIL OUT OF YACIIT HARBOR

Soriously Ēroubled by oil fioatmg iuto mooriag basm and foul!iig bottoms and sides of Oakland, Cal, y&cbt dufe rigged up twopaddle wheels to lueep Uie harbor free of both oil aod debris. The wheels are mouiited on a iloafc and rotated by a two-horse motor through a wonu gear. The whole assembly is secnred to plling on one side of the 20-foot entrance to the basin and sets up an outgoing current strong enough ta keep out oil an,d drift.
