An Advertiser Lie.
Mr. WilliamH.AIdrich was seoi; this morning iu reference to u paragr*ph whieli apj>eared in the Aiivtrii*er today, in whieh it was stattd that he attempted to laav> 1 tbe coontry on board the brig I. Averuier. The gentleraan ii ; qne.stion, who is a good friend of Captain Jamieson had no iutontions of going away, uor had he ! raade any arrangements with the 1 Captain. He simplv went on board to bid goodby fo Jaraiesou and finding the skipper bnsv waited for him in tbe eahin. The | best proof of the correctness of I Mr. Aldrich’s stateraent is that no charge had beeu preferred against him for attcmpting to leave the conntry witbout a pasaport. The Advertiser, as usnally is trying to work out a private grudge against a private individoal.
