The Photography of Colours.

At the Academy of Sciences recently, Mr. Lippmann presented nine colour photographs obtained by M. M. Lumiere of Lyons, throngh his process. The objects reproduced werechromos, such as are nsed for decorating biscuit boxes, etc. This is eonsidered to be a progress of some importance, as it shows that a unmber of colours mav be reproduced, even when of the most delicate tints. M. Lippmann has been able to reduce the time of exposure from several minutes to a few seconds; he is also experimenting with electric light of great intensity. These photographs of colour will be exhibit ed at the Chicago exhibition.
